Coffee, Tea & Treats in St. Tammany

Need to feed your sweet tooth, or just looking for a relaxing spot of tea or cuppa joe? Try our local Abita Roasting Company coffee, with beans hand-roasted right here on the Northshore. At their Madisonville location, you can sip a cup from the deck of the historic Coquille Cottage and watch the boats go by on the scenic Tchefuncte River. Or, have some beignets and café au lait at Northshore locations of the New Orleans classic, Café du MondeThe English Tea Room in downtown Covington is a darling place to sip tea and while away an afternoon, with homages to the Queen everywhere you turn.

Ever tried a snowball? Meant to be savored, it's a delicious shaved ice with flavored simple syrup - think Wedding Cake, Nectar, Tutti Frutti, Strawberry, and more. There are snowball stands all over the Northshore when the temperature starts to rise, like Honey's Snoball Shack, just outside Abita Springs (look for the colorful picnic tables and play area for the kiddos). For a treat that's smoother than ice cream, you can check out Moo Moo's Frozen Custard in Mandeville, serving cones, cups and shakes with all the toppings you could want swirled right in (serves burgers and sandwiches, too). Take your pick of homemade ice cream--there's Hoodoo Ice Cream in downtown Covington, NorthShore Ice Company in Mandeville, and the nostalgic Old Town Slidell Soda Shop in historic Olde Towne.
