Kid-Friendly Things to Do on the Northshore
Looking for something wild and wonderful to do with the kids on the Northshore? We've got you covered.
Hold a baby alligator in your hand during a tour of Insta-gator's working alligator ranch, or see one in the wild on a guided eco-tour of Honey Island Swamp. Explore the wild and wacky at Global Wildlife Center and the Abita Mystery House. Or, pedal a short span of the scenic Tammany Trace.
Go camping at Fontainebleau or Fairview-Riverside State Parks (they're both on the water), and play on the Northshore's plentiful parks and playgrounds. You can even dig your toes in the sand on several sandy beaches, or skip the sand and get straight to the splash on one of our splash pads. Catch your limit and a good time on a guided charter fishing expedition, or bring your rods and reels and fish on one of our National Wildlife Refuges or Wildlife Management Areas.
